Bats

A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it. He told them to go away and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in."OK, follow me" he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him. Down through the valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees. Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him. "Now, do you see that tree over there?" he asked. "Yes, Yes, Yes!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy. "Good" said the bat, "Because I sure as hell didn't!"

Air Conditioner

A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned down cause he was too cold, and so on for about half an hour.
Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient, he walked back and forth and never once got angry.

Big Event – Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (S2010)

Singapore will host the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games from 14 to 26 August 2010. Being the first ever Youth Olympic Games, Singapore will set the precedence for future hosts.

S2010 will receive about 5,000 young athletes between the ages of 14 to 18. They will compete in 26 sports. Officials from the 205 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), along with an estimated of 1200 media representatives, 20,000 local and international volunteers, and more than 370,000 spectators will be in Singapore.

Apart from the 26 sports which will take place at the 18 competition venues, S2010 will comprise other events such as the Opening and Closing ceremonies at Float at Marina Bay, Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame at various community districts, S2010 City Celebrations at Marina Bay and other activities.

The Youth Olympic Flame has started its journey in Greece in July and travel to five continents before reaching Singapore, the host country. The journey then continues through the five community districts with a traditional round-island torch-relay, ending each relay day with a community celebration.

The Youth Olympic Flame will be lit at the S2010 Opening Ceremony on 14 August 2010, marking the commencement of the first Youth Olympic Games.

As the host country for S2010, Singapore has an ideal opportunity to promote our country regionally and internationally. Moreover, with the arrival of foreign athletes, spectators and media representatives, tourism earnings are expected to increase and in the long run, the event may bring in potential business and investment opportunities for our nation.

Wow.... the movie, "Resident Evil 4" in 3D is showing on early September. I am so excited for the movie. If you can't wait till September. Just watch the movie trailer first and hope can eager your thirst for a time being. ^^

July, Raining Season?

Time 1:30pm at Novena. It's started to rain again. Is it a raining season now????







The wind blown so strong, even you get wet under the shether, don't mention even you were holding an umbrella.







With the heavy downpour, first come to my mind was... Oh no, not again..... Orchard going to flood again.












At least this time, the heavy downpour does not last too long. Although still
raining now. Just hope that no places are flooded this time.





The authority needs to act fast to prevent flooding again. No matter how, I just hope we can stay flood free in future. Hope so......

Lunch at Donut Factory

During lunch, my colleague suggested to dine in Donut Factory which located at Novena Square.

Donut Factory's offer 2 choice of combo value meal (combo A and combo B). The offer only valid during lunch which ended at 230pm.

Combo A consists of 1 main, 1 side/soup and 1 drink at $7.90

Combo B consists of 1 side/soup, 1 drink and 2 donuts at $6.50 (hope I remember correctly :p)

Man Utd Home Shirt 2010/2011

Today afternoon walked pass Nike shop at Orchard Central. So I decided to step in and take a look on some sport's shirt. To my surprised, I saw the latest dsplay of Manchester United Home Shirts are on the shelf.


So I took one of the sample for my size and tried it. After I tried it, I did not took too long to make my decision. I decided to buy it, so I asked the staff to get me a new one. After I had made my payment, I went home happily with my new Manchester United Home Shirt. ^^ ^^ ^^

Which One Would You Pick?

One day, Bill and Tom went to a restaurant for dinner.

As soon as the waiter took out two steaks, Bill quickly picked out the bigger steak for himself.

Tom wasn't happy about that: "When are you going to learn to be polite?"

Bill: " If you had the chance to pick first, which one would you pick?"

Tom: "The smaller piece, of course."

Bill: "What are you whining about then? The smaller piece is what you want, right?"

Spize, The Makan Place

Last Thursday, my colleagues and I went to Spize, The Makan Place for company's dinner and is located at 409 River Valley Road. The place look normal and no air-conditioning. You cannot just judge it by the outlook.



There are many different vareity of dishes for you to choose. The taste of the dishes are nice and the prices are reasonable. I definitely will return and try their signature dish, Roti John. Oops, I am feeling hungry now..... ^^

Like a lot of young women these days, one of our secretaries had worked long and hard to put her boyfriend through college. After he graduated and passed his bar exam, I asked her if they planned to be married soon. She looked at me with a big smile and said, "Oh no! Not right away. I want him to practice for at least six months first."

A Trip to Singapore Botanic Gardens

I have been long time never visit Singapore Botanic Gardens (SBG). After 10 over years, today I finally have step into SBG again.



The first impression I have, SBG has changed alot since my last visited. SBG has renovated which make the whole place look attractive. To my regret, I did not have a time to visit the whole place. But I have taken some photos for you to see.



SBG has a few attractions and places you must visit. Like Botant Centre near to Tanglin Gate, Swan Lake, Bandstand, Ginger Garden, National Orchid Garden, Palm Valley, Rain Forest, Visitor Centre, Evolution Garden, Eco Garden and Jacob Children's Garden.

Life After World Cup 2010

It's already 2nd days after World Cup 2010. Everything is back to normal game. No more excitement talking about which team going to win tonight. No more prediction.

Life is boring after World Cup 2010. Stare at the computer but doing nothing. Really feeling lost after chasing World Cup 2010 for 1 full month.

Wait for the next World Cup, still have wait for 4 years. What about European Cup? 2 more years to go. So what am I waiting for? None other than English Premier League. About a month time, English Premier League will begin.

Suddenly, I feel so excited. I going to watch out my favourite team, Manchester United. Follow every single piece of their news. Man Utd already start their pre-season tour in US. So much so I start to feel my day is born again.


I feel motivated again...........

Ghost Story 1 (Taken from Mail)

A man went to a hotel and walked up to the front desk to check in. The woman at the desk gave him his key and told him that on the way to his room, there was a door with no number that was locked and no one was allowed in there. Especially no one should look inside the room, under any circumstances. So he followed the instructions of the woman at the front desk, going straight to his room, and going to bed.

The next night his curiosity would not leave him alone about the room with no number on the door. He walked down the hall to the door and tried the handle. Sure enough it was locked. He bent down and looked through the wide keyhole. Cold air passed through it, chilling his eye. What he saw was a hotel bedroom, like his, and in the corner was a woman whose skin was completely white. She was leaning her head against the wall, facing away from the door. He stared in confusion for a while. He almost knocked on the door, out of curiosity, but decided not to.

This disinclination saved his life. He crept away from the door and walked back to his room. The next day, he returned to the door and looked through the wide keyhole. This time, all he saw was redness. He couldn’t make anything out besides a distinct red color, unmoving. Perhaps the inhabitants of the room knew he was spying the night before, and had blocked the keyhole with something red.

At this point he decided to consult the woman at the front desk for more information. She sighed and said, “Did you look through the keyhole?” The man told her that he had and she said, “Well, I might as well tell you the story. A long time ago, a man murdered his wife in that room, and her ghost haunts it. But these people were not ordinary. They were white all over, except for their eyes, which were red.”

The Challenge Between Paul and Mani

Finally the World Cup winner was born a few hours ago, Spain has crown champion for the first time.

With the result has finalised, the battle between Paul, the octopus and Mani, the parrot has ended too. The winner none other than Paul.

Paul definitely is one of the star in this World Cup. Paul had a perfect record. With 8 out of 8 matches had correctly predicted.

With the final match has ended. We waved goodbye to South Africa and welcome Brazil 2014. At last, we had a new country to join the World Cup Champion's family.

Well done Spain and well done Paul.

Sad Day for Germany

This morning 4:30am (Singapore Time), Germany was defeated by Spain in the World Cup Semi-Final. The Final socre is 1 nil in favour to Spain.


The goal was score in the 73 minutes from corner by Barcelona's defender, Carles Puyol's header. And his goal sent his country in to the World Cup Final for the first time. Their final opponent is none of other than Netherland.

Both teams had never win the World Cup before. Who will win the World Cup? Let us wait and see after the match. No matter what, the winner will be the 8th country to win the World Cup.

Once again the famous octopus, Paul, has predicted correctly. Indeed Spain has beaten Germany. Before the match, I was hope Paul will got it wrong this time, but...... So far Paul has made a 100% correct hit, 6 out of 6 matches. It's really amazing.

S'porean undergraduate gang-raped in HK

A S'porean undergraduate had gone alone to a bar at Lan Kwai Fong and had become drunk. Three Nepalese men who worked in bar approached her and invited her to a party on a yatch.

She accepted their invitation, and they took her to a yatch in the Causeway Bay area. And that all is history. The incident has taken place a month ago. The rapists have arrested by police report in HK newspaper Shin Tao Daily.

I feel sorry for the victim what she had been through. Especially, some internet users said she deserved it. How can he said that. Sad to read it.

From here, I like to remind all ladys. If you want to visit nightspot for a glass of drink, please go with your friends. Do not go alone. You will know what will happened to you when you are drunk. Men always like to look for opportunity to take advantage on girls. You need to protect yourself when you are enjoying.

Take my advise, do not go out with stranger to a quiet place. You must remember no one will pity you if there is something happen to you. So you must know how to take care yourself.

Paul, The Octopus

I read from newspaper, the octopus called Paul, who lives at an aquarium in Germany, has correctly predicted 5 out of 5 matches played by Germany in World Cup.



Paul has once again make his prediction for tomorrow world cup semi-final match, between Germany and Spain. Out of my surprise, this time Paul has pick Spain as winner in the clash of the semi-final.

Will Paul make a correct prediction this time? We shall see after the match.

This is an even match between Germany and Spain. I believe it will be a high scoring match. Whoever will win the match, will be the true winner. I can't wait anymore. May the time can past faster then normal day.

The Karate Kid

Yesterday, I watched the movie: The Karate Kid. This is an entertaining movie. I would recommended you to watch it.

I believe this is my first time saw Jackie Chan act like an old man in the movie. There is no more dangerous moves or stuns from him. Is good for him, he's no longer young.

The scenery in the movie was so beautiful and nice. Make me got the eager want to visit china on one of this day. In this show, There was some heart touching moments between Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. Especially when Jackie told Jaden an acciden has killed his wife and his son. Until he still can't recalled how's the accident happened.

To me only one word can describe the movie. Nice............

World Cup - Argentina vs Germany

I just finished watching the match between Argentina and Germany. What a match. Who has expected Argentina to lost 4 goals to Germany. At least, England will feel happy, although they lose to Germany but still managed to score a consolation goal. Go go Germany. I salute you. 2 more matches to go, and you will be crowned Asa champion in World Cup 2010.

Tonight World Cup

Tonight World Cup 3rd quarter final match, is my favourite team, Germany vs Argentina. I hope and believe Germany will beat Argentina, although Argentina is more strong than Germany in paper. But the ball is round, anything can happen during the 90 minutes match. Just like England vs Germany match , who had expected England to lost in 4-1 to Germany. Let me wish Germany good luck and win all the way to become World Cup 2010 champion.

It's a rainy day

At 1:30pm, it's start to rain heavily again. First thing that come into my mind, which are the places going to be flooded. Thomson road? Bukit Timah road? Orchard road? Definitely, flooded in Orchard road can not be happened again. If not, someone from the top of the authority will get his head chop off.

Carolyn Lim

The writer of Making Pink Lemonade, Carolyn Lim, was given a speech during my company in-service. She told us, she has suffered depression after struck by lightning. She has gone through a lot of hardship during on her road of recovery. She has been think why lightning strike never took her life? Fortunately, her husband and her parents have standby her all these years.

New Colleague? Old Colleague?

Today in office, I was so surprise that one of my colleague has re-empoly after he tendered his resignation letter 5 months ago. He has been work with me for 10 years. He was back to his previous section and taking back his unfinished tasks.

As for this, I do have some question for myself. Does this mean the market is bad? Or did he doesn't get use to the 'outside world' competition after stay in his comfort zone for 10 years? Did he miss us, that make him come back?

Whatever the answer is, I always welcome him back.
